3W reports detail which agencies are responding to a disaster, what they will be doing and where they will be going. See examples of previous 3W reports we have published.
We rely on statements these agencies make on their own websites and social media feeds. We consolidate these open source reports. This means we can compile our 3W reports extremely rapidly.
Typically our initial 3W report is published within 3 or 4 days of a crisis.
Our 3W reports are not intended to replace the 3W reports produced via clusters on the ground. Instead they are intended to improve the visibility of which agencies are responding. In particular we can give larger agencies greater visibility of smaller, more specialist teams heading into the area. This can improve response and coordination especially in specialist fields.
