Standby Task Force DATATHON

Standby Task Force is celebrating its 7th year! Since 2010, we have achieved great results, collecting data and providing information to support disaster management around the world. This has only been possible thanks to the support of the SBTF volunteers, with hundreds of people from around the world hunting data and providing key information during the international emergencies.

This weekend, 25-27 February 2017, we will be holding a Standby Task Force DATATHON, an exciting event open for all SBTF volunteers, where you will have the opportunity to learn more about the Standby Task Force by collecting and searching for on-line references about our wonderful organization. Participate in this exciting data hunt, looking for articles, video channels, blogs and social networks, to find any reference about SBTF organization since its creation.

A unique factor of this DATATHON is that it is not attached to any kind of disaster; we hope, very much, that it will be a fun opportunity to connect with other members, improve your searching skills and have some fun! It will be completely supported by the SBTF coordinators and core team members who will be on hand to answer any questions you may have for this project or even questions about past deployment. There may even be cake*

The DATATHON is open for 48 hours, from 25th February 2017 – 09,00am UTC, to 27th February 2017 – 09am UTC. If you are a SBTF volunteer, please join us, even if you only have time pop in and say hello! You will hopefully find us all in a good spirit and we would love to get to know you all better!

*you will need to supply your own cake
