SBTF is activating to collect information on Hurricane Matthew

Several countries in the Caribbean are bracing for Hurricane Matthew, a powerful category 4 hurricane. While the trajectory and the severity of the hurricane is unpredictable, it has already started causing flooding and damage in several places. We at the SBTF have been monitoring the situation and have been in touch with internationally responding communities on this matter. There seems to be a need for the kind of information we can provide to groups heading to the affected areas. In light of this, the SBTF has decided to self-activate for Hurricane Matthew.

The information we find can provide responders on the ground with actionable information to render aid and help with recovery. We have a Slack Channel dedicated for the purposes of this deployment, and it would be great if you could join us there! If you are an SBTF member who isn’t in our Slack Channels, you can sign up here. It’s easy!

If you aren’t an SBTF volunteer, well, why don’t you join us? You can start by signing up here.
