Who is doing what, where to help refugees in Europe

Just before Christmas, we built a picture of what services are available for refugees traveling to and across Europe.

This was a spin-off from the deployment we were working for NetHope which involved building data about what was happening in targeted locations.

It was hard work, but, in typical SBTF fashion, a huge dataset was built. This has been visualised by Simon Johnson from the British Red Cross (see screenshot above).

Second deployment planned

It’s also being used by several groups within the tech and humanitarian communities to create new and improved services for refugees. Because it is proving so useful: we are planning to have a second deployment to check, update and clean this dataset.
